  27/05/08 - Sad News - Richard Bird

It is with great sadness and deepest sympathy that I am passing on news that Richard Bird passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday night.

Richard was an avid supporter of SNOBs, always to be seen supporting the club on the touchline in all conditions, and held the position of Chairman of the club for a number of years.

Our sympathies go out to Richard’s family – to his wife Marion and children Chris, Michael and Jane.

The funeral service will be held on Monday 2nd June 2008, at Breakspear Crematorium at 16:00 for those wishing to attend. Please click here for directions.

There will be a reception at the clubhouse immediately afterwards, from 17:00 to 19:00. Please see Where We Are section of the website directions.

16/05/08 - End of Season Dinner Cancelled

The end of season dinner planned for Friday 16th May 2008 has been cancelled due to a lack of interest.

This is disappointing since we had 80+ attendees at last year’s event who all had a great time, and given the success of this year’s Ladies’ Night event. The club will look to present the Player Awards for the 2007/08 season at the beginning of next season.

In future all members are reminded that the dates for all social events are set at the start of the season, and presented in the pre-season newsletter, the fixture card and the website to allow members ample notice to keep the dates free.

Can I also take this opportunity to draw our attention to the club's Annual General Meeting which will be held at 19:30 at Ickenham CC on Wednesday 28th May 2008.
