A message from club President, Ian Dothie:
"It is with great sadness and deepest sympathy that I am passing on news of the tragic and unexpected death of Blair Dunlop. Blair was a keen player at St. Nicks, and was always to be seen at the Ickenham Clubhouse supporting the boys, or sharing a pint and a joke with his former team mates. Unfortunately a severe neck injury curtailed his playing career with the Old boys, but that didn't stop him hosting the odd League lunch and putting his hand in his pocket for club funds when asked.
Always a keen supporter of rugby, one of the main highlights of Blair's rugby experiences was when he managed to get himself and Byron on the homecoming plane with the victorious England World Cup team. The picture of Blair holding the cup with Jason Leonard and Lawrence Dallaglio will remain one of his treasured possessions.
I was fortunate enough to share a box at Wasps with Blair, and so I saw him on a regular basis.
Both Jennie and I will miss him as a friend and as a valued advisor. Blair will also be missed by his club mates and work colleagues Byron and Huddy. Our sympathies go out to them and to Fiona and Blair's three children - Jamie, Georgina and Diana."

Please note that the Gate PH will be open form 11am onwards next Tuesday 13th November 2007, but with access via the rear only (normal hours from 12). This has been organised for the funeral by Paddy Power - an old friend of Blair's.
